I'm a multipassionate entrepreneur
Angie Carrillo is a 2x founder, advisor and investor passionate about using exponential technologies to have a lasting positive impact in the world.
She is an advisor of Liks.co, a coding and robotics boot camp, home to the winners of Moonbots 2016, Google Lunar X Prize competition and a mentor to the winner of Premio Nacional del Emprendedor.
She has been a consultant and advisor for Eva Tech, which was one of Forbes México de las 30 Promesas de los Negocios 2018 and a Y Combinator backed startup.
Angie is an alumni ambassador of Draper University, top entrepreneurship program in Silicon Valley, where she worked for Tim Draper, famous billionaire Venture Capitalist, as an Entrepreneur in Residence helping other founders start their businesses. She is also an alumni from Singularity University Global Solutions Program, where she co-founded Nextbiotics, a biotechnology company with the aim to eradicate antibiotic resistant bacteria with CRISPR-Cas9, part of Singularity University Ventures. Angie holds a BA in Business from Tecnologico de Monterrey and was an international student at UC Berkeley Haas School of Business.
Angie is passionate about closing the gender gap, and recently became a limited partner on an investment fund for female founders.
She is a self-taught coder and previously founded a non-profit organization to teach girls to code. For this work, she was selected a Master Educator & Ambassador for Technovation at UNESCO WiSci Camp 2016 and the largest program to teach girls tech entrepreneurship.
In the past, Angie has worked as a strategy consultant for several large Fortune 500 companies and was part of the strategy team for the largest pharmaceutical company in Mexico, Pisa Pharmaceuticals, where she evaluated multiple products to come to enter the Mexican market, developing new businesses and growing the company sales by over 30M USD.
So far, I've visited 35+ countries and 100+ cities, lived in 5 countries, founded 2 startups, raised over 5+ million USD, invested in 1 fund, taught myself and 100+ girls to code, and advised multiple award-winning startups and big tech companies. All while still in my twenties.
Right now, I'm learning:
- Venture Capital, I believe in diversity and diverse teams and I put my money where my mouth is. I have a good record of picking great startups to advise and building companies from the ground up.
- Photography and video editing, you can tell by my love for IG and visuals.
- Storytelling and how to tell stories better.
